Mercury’s role is to acquire data, while the Sun processes and integrates that data into conscious identity and purpose. Especially during retrograde periods, Mercury urges us to slow down, analyse, itemise, studies, administer the areas of life where Mercury retrograde.

In the 1st house (the house of identity, the house of life - we are asking ourselves “Where am I going? What is my potential? What is my goals? As it moves into the 2nd house (the succedent house - according to Rudhyar, the succedent houses (2nd, 5th, 8th , 11th) are the houses represent the future, or what we are becoming. It is also the house of substance (2nd), the focus shifts to what we have, our resources, values, and self-worth.

If its occurred in our second house, it invites us to pause and think about the message that this Mercury retrograde brings us. It asked us to revisit our relationship with personal resources - our talents, values, and emotional resilience. It’s a period of time to explore:
What can you do to find new solutions to old ideas, whats your innate talents? (look at the sign on the second house cusp, and the house where ruler of the second house falls in, how it support this realm of your life).
How can you prepare yourself to take a different stance or look at things from a new and fresh perspective? Look at this thoroughly, don’t stick to limitations, either your own or other people place on you.
Reinterpret them. New dimensions of consciousness breaking through old thought forms.
Finding new inspirations, if you look you will be able to find them.
Did you rejecting old ideas because they are old, instead of reforming them? How can you reignite them, give them life again?
In this example, on the day that Mercury stationed retrograde, it formed a semi-sextile to natal Mars, the ruler of Aries in the 3rd house. Think about your immediate environment, place conscious effort on how you can embrace what’s in your immediate environment, the local library, a local community that you can learn and share space with? Have you abandoned your writing, can you go back to your writing? Semi-sextile is a creative, productive, but some trial and error is needed to enable Mars perseverance, and dare spirit to re-ignite if for some reasons it has been forgotten. With the semi-sextile, the new is actually flowing through the old structure, but it is irritating you in some way. They may be some irritations to be experienced. Mercury retrograding in Aries (fire/cardinal) is revisiting, reexamine, giving new looks to our personal resources, our personal talents, embrace your immediate environment (Mars in 3rd house ruling Mercury), what new spark of fire, new form of business that you can give to your existing one? What routines that you need to revisit? or perhaps re-activate them to support your personal resources, perhaps goes back to exercise in our neighbourhood (Mars in Taurus in the 3rd). What we can teach ourselves, or realise through journaling, if we have abandoned them. Trial and error and a little effort are needed to make this productive in rebuilding for a new beginning that we values (Mercury conjunct with Venus retrograde in Aries in the second house).
Mercury Re-Enters Pisces - March 30, 2025
Two weeks into retrograde, Mercury re-enters Pisces in the first house - a dreamier, intuitive sign. By now, Mercury has gathered information and processed by the Sun in 10 degrees Aries in the second house forming the semi-sextile where Mercury was having before 2 weeks ago. Sun in Aries is processing what Mercury has revisited, and how it supported the houses that Mercury rules through going thoroughly personal resources, your personal talents, your innate fire.
Mercury retrograde re-enter the Pisces in the first house, in some point Mercury conjunct the North Node in Pisces in the first house, this shift encourages us to embrace the possibility of becoming - to challenge ourselves beyond comfort zones and old self-concepts. Revisit on how you communicate, share your new image to the world with the personal talents that you have reignited and give it a new meaning? What old identities needs to be dissolved? or to reclaim yourself in a new way?

Celebrate the here and now (1st house), also at the same time pay attention what needs to be addressed with Mercury going direct. Remember, we have Mercury stationed retrograde on the same day as Lunar Eclipse in Virgo in the 7th house, opposite Mercury. What message is coming through or become clearer about your one-to-one relationship? You may have reached a turning point in how you seek validation or support from others.
This eclipse suggests an intense time to pause, and revisit 7th house matter.
